I don't have access to my loft.
I want to replace a ceiling light with a fan/light unit.
I want to put all the excising wires that are in the ceiling rose into a connector & add the LNE to feed the light/fan. I don't want to make a large hole & push ceiling rose into the loft what options are there?
Im a competent DIYER.

Standard 'socket' ones are 1.5" by 1.5" John, and they do a slightly smaller 'lighting' one thats 1.5" x 1" :)

Could be a bit fiddly though depending how many wires he is connecting. Did 2 today and with 4mm cable it was a bit of a pain lol

More like 1.5" x 1.7", I think, but even a 1.5" x 1.5" one would need an absolute minimum hole size of about 2.1" diameter.

I'm not aware of that - I'm only familiar with the 'standard' and "XL" ones. Do you have a link?

Kind Regards, John

Click Flow CT102C will fit through a smaller hole. It's 49mm by 23mm, so better off with a slot, than a drilled circle.

Also, as this is the screwed cord-grip version, you can persuade the 3 * T&E coming out the same side to be a bit more parallel to each other(to aid cramming through hole), unlike as seen in the stock images.

That's just about true if, as you say, one cuts a rectangular hole. However, if one was talking the more usual circular holes, it would actually need a slightly larger hole than would a 'standard' Wagobox (whose largest dimension is only 44mm).

No, you should not do that. It needs to be accessible for inspection.

There are "maintenance free" junction boxes (J804) but I still wouldn't bury it on purpose.

Will the new light fitting base/rose not cover the hole?

Au contraire...:p .... Assuming it has 'square corners', then a Wagobox, at 44 by 39mm, needs a 59mm hole. (√3457) ... The Click Flow says it will fit through a 51mm downlight hole. (despite √(49²+23²)≈54mm)
Fair enough - my late-night arithmetic went very slightly awry :-) . However, I suppose the point is that they are very similar - I am far from convinced that I could tell the difference between a 54mm and 59mm hole in a ceiling by looking at it (unless I had the two side-by-side for comparison)!

As you say 49mm x 23mm will clearly not fit through a 51mm diameter hole, whatever may be claimed, and one hardly needs a calculation to realise that (there has to be a bit of an arc of the circle extending beyond both ends of the rectangular item, and 51mm would only allow 1mm at each end of the 49mm item).

Sorry John, been a mental couple of days. :) ....
Thanks. Ah yes, I'd forgotten those since I don't really think of them as Wagoboxes (although they are!) - I only usually think of the 'standard' and 'XL' ones, which seemingly can be used (with the right connectors) as 'maintenance-free'.

Kind Regards, John
