Texecom Premier 24 ' Activate Device '

Hi

Hopefully a simple question for someone in the know.

I want to set up one of the zones as a Keyswitch, which reading the manual would appear simple enough!

I go to the 'Zone setup press yes,
then presented with Zone 1, i can toggle between each zone no problem. However the text under the zone number should read as the zone type, and by pressing, 'No' i should be able to toggle through the zone types. However the text under the zone number reads 'Activate Device' and I cannot get further than this.

I have searched but can find any reference 'Activate Device' in relation to Texecom alarms

Any help would be appreciated

Menu 4 on the keypad for panel and version number.

at default zone 1 would be entry exit you press no and you get activate device?

whats attached to it?

I was trying to set up Zone 9 as a keyswitch to attach a Konnected Interface Kit.

Zone 1 was set to Entry Exit as you note, however the zone type for all zones now read 'Active Device'?

Post picture ...I’ve never seen that ...was thinking before you had some wireless expansion on it ...

however activate device fairly sure that sounds like a wireless option.

so my question would be what is connected to the system in the first instance.

I could be wrong but it could have wireless expander connected on the network or on the comport possibly radio plus.

if you go into engineer utilities, confirm devices

this will show if an expander is attached.

radio plus had silver aerials whereas ricochet which replaced it had copper aerials

The panel has an 8 zone expander (8XE I think), and a number of wired pir/door sensors. Its been installed for 10 years and all was OK until I tried to change the zone type.

8XE is an internal hard wired expander that piggy backs onto the main 24 pcb.

age wise sounds about right as 2007 was version 8 firmware for the premier 24 and that supported radioplus back then

okay thats definetly an 8XE and dont see anything attached to the com ports

So i would look at udl digi options, comport setup

nothing connected just to check programming
