It ain't all love thy neighbour and turn the other cheek. Quite a bit of hate crime in there:
Deuteronomy 22: 20-21
Deuteronomy 23:1
Deuteronomy 23:2
Deuteronomy 25:11-12
Leviticus 12:5
Leviticus 21:18-21
Leviticus 26:27-30
now your talking
the christian thing is an outworking of the jewish law and customs, and their tradition
they liked to think God was on their side and would destroy their enemies...which the have accounted for in the old testament...law, prophets and the writings...
this came to an end at the time of the coming of a "messiah" they wouldnt accept
but those who did became followers of Christ..christians as they are called and there are also messianic jews whom i would say share the name christians, but retain the traditions in part of the jewish faith...but dont long for the "third temple" as some jewish sects do...jewishness is a quite broad brush for todays jews...some are messianic, some liberal, some faithful only and some fundamental and then there are the hasidic jews from middle europe in the 18th century
chrisitanity still has the old testament in a cut down form of 39 books...there are many more...and also the new testament 27 books again vastly cut down from the documents and information found at the tiime of the rising of christianity over 300 years until it became diluted and paganised to some part by the romans and greeks...who still are the orthodox church...the church of england became semi roman catholic without the "roman" bit after henry 8th and then by the time of james 1st the bible was authorised.
what the transition did from judaism to christianity was to centralise the appeasement of God by regular sacrifices and regulated celebrations and codes of life style
the transition gradually took place to concentrate on one sacrifice..Jesus..whom i think the cannibals of africa would appreciate..

...of which acceptance of the reason for this act offers forgiveness of sin, providing one believes that in the first place. its not meant to be general and has proviso's
it works by faith in God and acceptance of His grace...
and here is the good part...it was God's plan to have His Son sacrificed as the final effort to get man to keep covenants which were always broken by the jews
1 adam
2 noah
3 abram...latterly abraham
4 moses
5 david
6 Jesus..who was the sacrifice..God's only Son.......remember Abraham. this was considered a formal sacrifice in jewish terms for complete surrender to God...and also strangely the first born in egypt at the time of moses...whom were saved by the blood of a sacrificial lamb daubed on the hebrews door posts avoiding that final plaque......
most of all the biblical narratives up to this point are prophetic and genealogical in import
