Who do we have to thank for this complete mess? Governments across the globe. 'Leaders' across the globe. A complete and utter lack of any sort of robust forward planning and now, complete lack of robust strategy to deal with it.

Based on your theory, that applies to every migrant that comes to the UK.
You'd need to stop every foreigner setting foot in our great land, tourists and all. The UK economy would take a massive hit and crime in the UK would not. It would likely increase.

I have great faith in the British people. We are ready for tougher measures. But I am certain that letting people drown will be a step too far. And I believe it would be a step too far for you.
For someone that goes abroad a lot, you don’t seem to know much about the point of passport control. Try to go to the USA for example with a criminal conviction for possessing a bit of puff.

Yeah, but the Italians won’t stop them going to France and the French won't stop them coming to the U.K. so we have to have our own deterrent and not be reliant upon our European 'friends'.
