To make two uprights Level

I love this forum for the unorthodox ways of doing things!
How would it work with a camera phone?
And what typical known levels could you use to calibrate? I'm guessing a large pond would do if you marked a pole at each end 1m above water level, if you have one.

The OP can take a picture, of his efforts and post it here for our amusement.

If he can't level two "uprights" (whatever they are) then I suspect that suggestions of using hose and water might be too dangerous.
