To MOD the mad deleter of questions

I have never (as far as I recall) received any emails from you Tony with comments or suggestions, the address you should send them to is [email protected]

If you have any problems with the trademan lookup facility, then I would appreciate you letting me know what they were, I have just tried it and it works fine for me.

[email protected]

Also Tony, your posts are not edited to make you look stupid, they are only edited to remove obscenities, advertising etc

:D

As I said before, the price question, has been more of a guideline than a rule

In that case why have your Mods always deleted or locked the postings mentioning prices?

When I first posted something here I was given a "Final Warning". No explanation except See 13A which says "Blatant Advertising".

A friend told me it was probably because I signed, Tony Glazier, Agile Services as I do at all the other similar sites. Another time I put MIPHE as I have to at the IPHE site, that was probably removed.

Yet someone else calls himself "The Potterton Engineer" and always recommends their products without any problem from the mods. Why are his posts never tampered with and mine always are.

Your Mods call me "Paranoid" and actually moved one of my postings to a new Topic of "Paranoia" to prove the point. That I felt was abusive to me yet you dont delete your Mods!

To me "Blatant Advertising" is just that. " Go and buy the Screwfix dewalt drill for £5.99, its wonderful value and just what everyone wants " Thats blatant advertising!

sorry link removed

The ATT issue is separate, it was banned because of repeated advertising which despite requests did not cease hence the ban (all that has been covered before and is not something I intend to dredge up again).

Agile, your company name would have been removed from your posts because that is advertising, perhaps the final warning was a bit harsh, but there has been a change of moderators over the last few years, so I dont think that would happen now with our current moderators (although the company name would still be removed).

If you object to something specific you can always email [email protected] and I'll look into it and get back to you.

Now DIYnot, why was it necessary for you to "correct" my quotation when the words were correct as pasted. the only difference is they are now in a box!

Refering you to the original Mod action of deleting the words and locking the post to "price advice required" of 3 Aug, 2.27 pm. This is the Mod action that started all these comments.

My posting was cut off and now reads "... if you still want to ask about prices CUT With no explanation !!!

It originally continued along the lines of

" ...if you still want to ask about prices you could do so on the plumbing pages or screwfix sites. "".

My posts are all serious and intended to be helpful to the original poster.

Above, you imply that some of my posts have been deleted because they were "Obscene". I would chalenge you to find ANY posts I have ever made which are obscene either on your or any other site!

Tony Glazier

Agile, I did not imply they were cut because they were obscene, I said that that would be a reson for them to be cut, or advertising etc.

The reason your post above was edited to correct the quotes was to make the forum look tidier, I can't see your objection with that. Many people make mistakes in their posts and it is just tiding things up, otherwise the forum would be covered with
and tags and it looks messy and obviously isnt what the poster intended.

And your reply to the above?

What you actually said before was!

well make it easier to use. in other forums you can highlight the text in the text box and click bold, quote, underline etc etc, and itll put that text in the correct tags. where as here, you have to click to get the open tag, type/paste the text and then add the close tag. and if you do the text first, it puts the tag at the end where you then have to move it around... and you wonder why there are soo many mistakes?

that is why i edited it.

-----------------------------------
Me (again)
note to mod: once i submitted it and the page re-loaded i noticed the error. and edited my post to make it correct immediatly. and you also removed [ quote] form inside the quote. this should not have been removed since it was part of admins quote. not a stray [ quote] tag. also, what you have just said was also incorrect, since i had to add a space in the
to stop it coming up different. i never removed the ] after the first quote tag quoting admin

Exactly, if they contain obscenties they'll be edited if they dont they wont, ok perhaps I omitted to say advertising, porn, etc etc will also be removed I was just giving an example. If you interpretted that I implied your posts have in the past been edited for that reason then I appologise.

er... no. you did not correct quote. i edited the post after submitting and noticing it was wrong. oh, and i notice you have taken [ quote] form my post. this was also in your post what i quoted. get your facts right. there was nothing wrong with my post

my opinion is as follows.

everyone has an opinion about how the forum should or should not be run, i say to you, if you do not like this forum, then start your own forum, make your own forum rules run it your way, then come back here in 6 months and tell us how you get on.

If you do not want to do this then please quit moaning, suggestions are welcomed but not whingers

i think the mods do a good just usually, but editing my post and removing part of the quote is going a bit far
