...you know like the ones used on the london underground and found in 50's kitchens and bathrooms.

Why am I finding it so difficult to find these tiles?

So far I've only found really expensive ones on the Fired Earth website for approx £1-£1.60 ea  I was hoping not to pay more than 40p ea for them

I thought these would be quite easy to source as they are traditional and stylish.

Any ideas?

P.S. I want the non-beveled edged ones. I've managed to find beveled ones in Wickes but I find them too fussy.

I saw som flat ones in B&Q warehouse last week, not quite as flat as a brick probably 100x200.

H.R.Johnson also do their Prismatics (plain colours) in 100x200 in gloss & satin white, any decent tile shop will be able to get these for you

Thanks for the suggestions guys I've sent a couple of emails to them.

I was thinking more London underground JohnD :D

I quite like the public toilet look actually trazor

It does not help, but these are actually glazed bricks, and not tiles

No link, just my recollection from college of "the oldern days".

All these were glazed bricks and used in a sanitary areas and where a wipe clean surface was required - non of this plastering lark, and no tiling either. The brickies had to work to a high standard with these.

very very narrow mortar joint too. have seen them in old hotel kitchens.
