Trendy architrave/skirting

I want to replace the knackered skirting and architrave in the house with something a bit more modern and fresh looking. So far as I can see, you can't buy anything but the traditional profiles from yards and DIY chains, anyone got any suggestions?

I own a router and I'm not afraid to use it! Just need to figure out some designs I guess. I thought something in a nice light coloured wood (not pine) would look good, but it all seems a bit expensive.
