Yep, that's my plan to use just the one (out of the twin socket) for the specific purpose of a non permanent engine room extension to serve tube heaters for winter months. I could I suppose just get a new double socket to replace the Schuko but really do not see the point now I have asked the question here

I shall use my cannons to fire on any suspected socket enforcers and employ the tactics of the big boys to stave of any Somali pirates :sneaky::D
 
In the main, it seems only when using a marina does anyone check to see what you have. I think the RCD is more to do with insurance than anything else, and I have never read it, so not a clue what it says you must do.
