UK has smallest size property due to cost of land.
Since the UK uses land as an investment, it means the rich control the land....we havent moved on much from feudal times.
There is plenty of land available in this country, no need at all for small properties.
the Conservative govt have just started looking at new planning rules.....which are effectively a developers charter, removing all those pesky 'affordable housing' requirements,
small houses are only for the commoners, I should know I've built an orangery for a Tory MP (one of our delivery vehicles knocked a huge branch off one if his trees, luckily he blamed it on the weather!)

Farmers are not a small minority and are very important.
Not many farmers own the land and if they do they are land owners and not actually farmers.
