UK/USA trade deal talks start tuesday.

a US deal is what the Tories want -they are all lined up for some nice backhanders -brexit was all about making money for the rich few.

Boris Johnson will be busy telling the public 'we will never sell out the NHS to the US' -whilst that is exactly what he will be doing, and has been doing.

Why do you think so called brexit think tanks and Tory advisors have links going back to the USA?
Govts most powerful advisor Matthew Elliott has close links to Trumps gang, Koch foundation etc.

EU food regulations are based on our food regs, not the other way round.

hehe, you'll be getting chlorinated chicken sandwiches in your lunchbox before you know it.

GM bread as well. Average age to death will probably reduce to theirs.

Many senators saying they don't see why americans should subsidise the NHS. There makers sell cheaper here than in the USA, :)

Trade deal with the USA could work ok.
The only problem is that the Americans could use any trade deal to blackmail the British into joining them in future wars around the world.
Better not to keep all your chlorinated chickens in one basket.

Trump says the Brits don't have to worry about the price of American drug exports to Britain.
Crack cocaine and heroin prices will remain the same.

When you have a monopsony and buyer power in the NHS - the public benefits.

Anyone who wants to travel down the path to the US health system needs their head checking out.

Protect the NHS is just a slogan.

We only need to look at the Harrier to see where this trade 'deal' will go.

A brilliant piece of british innovation that was sold at cost to the US.
A huge amount spent on upgrades to the UK aircraft, and shortly after 72 were sold to the US for the about cost of one of it's replacement aircraft.
For which we'll be paying vast amounts for a US aircraft that doesn't appear to be very reliable!

Same with Concorde. It wasn't american, so in a hissy fit they effectively prevented it ever becoming a commercial success.

What america doesn't develop/own it wants to buy on the cheap or destroy.

Goodbye NHS :(

thousands of EU regulations are harmonised BS standards

food regulations have been developed in collaboration, so yes the UK have been an important part of the development of the regs.

brexiteers sadly dont understand the collaborative benefit of a set of harmonised regulations -they effectively front load all the red tape, so all businesses inside the EU can benefit from frictionless trade -post brexit our trade with our closest neighbour will be no better than the access Venezeula has -apparently it gives us huge advantage :ROFLMAO:

For the USA and Tories pockets

trade deals are built on reciprocity -which means the bigger side always wins

plus USA will want level playing field forcing regulatory divergence from our current market with our closest neighbour which is over 3x bigger

As long as the NHS don't start manufacturing fighter planes I'm sure they'll be OK.

Wasn't it the TSR2 that was the biggest scandal, scrapped because the Americans decided not to buy it?,
Planes aint cheap and without a market, the manufacturers wont survive, Boeing or Airbus could be next, I don't envisage aircraft orders picking up for a while .

I always found it funny that the controls on the harrier to angle the thrust were connected by bicycle chain.

Pioneering technology very rarely works out cost effective for the manufacturer. It’s often the 2nd or 3rd to market who cleans up.

Nobody could have sold Concorde for a profit.

Plenty of super cars and super yachts are sold at cost. Sometimes it’s about the brand and the achievements.

Someone it seems doesn't understand the consequences of a small nation on it's own coming up against the US.

Especially when that small nation is led by essentially those who have strong links to the US and worship their exploitation tactics!

The EU in it's wisdom knocked TTIP on it's head, whilst at the time Camoron was calling for 'full steam ahead'.

We are in for a far worse version of TTIP!

As for other examples of 'deals' that the UK does with the US, then look no further than the one sided extradition treaty!
