Under the floor...

Take a socket plate off and see which way the cables go from the box. This should give you a good idea.
 
in the "alcoves" either side of the chimney breast is a good place ( since the boards will be short if they run that way )

Spoken by someone thats obviously never done a domestic rewired, please explain how you remove a floorboard 1200mm ish long that is trapped under a skirtihg board at each end.

I've done 2 rewires.. and the boards came up really easily on both ...
mind you the lower half of the walls were being re-plastered in the one place ( damp or something ) and the other place had no skirting on...

so thanks for the head up.. I'll note that down in my little red book.. :wink: :D
