It is not new. I can clearly recall similar things from the time I spent living with an aunt in the country ( 1950's ). Farmers and game keepers used them and ( if I recall correctly ) not all used blanks. Hence the need to abide by the signs that said "tresspassers may be shot by accident"yes it is, never seen one of these before,
