Absolutely turn your surround sound off, it did annoy me for the first or second game, now used to it.
And if you want one you can get one with St Georges cross on it from Sainsburys, marketing at it's finest.
I've found that whilst you can hear them on the radio commentary - its not as obvious - so stick the TV on, turn the sound right down and listen to the commentary on the radio.
I think it effects some people's hearing more than others - i can't say it really bothers me at all, in fact once the game begins, i hardly notice it, but its driving the missus up the wall.
