Wall Lights

I have 2 of these wall lights. I plan to put them on the wall where I have a space for storage which has a double socket not being used. Can I simply wire the cable attached to the rear (pictured) and into the plug (attached) which can then be plugged into the 2 gang switched sockets? I will be using smart plugs to turn them on and off. Thanks in advance.
