I am hanging a new floor from the party and gable walls.

I will bolt a wall plate to each of these walls. The joists being used for the floor are 2 x 7".

Do i use a 3" joists for the wall plates or is 2" adequate. Also should i make these wall plates bigger, so using 8" joists ?

Can't you use masonry hangers and cut them into the existing walls?

If you do use a wall plate I'd use one the same depth as the joists and bolt to the wall using M12 bolts at 400 centres, centrally in the plate.
That's as long as you're bolting to good brick or block. If bolting to ropey looking brickwork or blockwork less than 7N then you'll need more bolts, possibly 200 centres.

yes bolting using resin system and may do 200mm centres. brickwork is 1910 and is ok, but not as good as block work.

most people say a wood plate is much better than individual fixing and so i have gone that route.
