WASPI women

Reform are the biggest liars in politics, only thickos would vote for them.

I’m sure you will vote for them
Not biting -- carry on trolling I will not be engaging with you in any conversation no matter how much you troll

I still don't understand wtf these women are claiming?
They were not informed about the change by the government? Heck I knew all about pension changes, it was in the news.
Where have they been since 1995 that they did not know and did not adequatly ensure they have a pension setup? Living on a small island (not this one).

I'm sure we were all told about pensions in the 90's-2000's.
It's always somebody else's fault though

I knew several women who were devastated when they were forced to retire from jobs they loved and were good at when turning 60. The higher pension retirement age in public sector pension schemes gave women more money, and men too when the overall age limit was removed. The current whingeing by the right is, like the WFA, no more than weaponising anti labor propaganda on an issue the toreys did sweet f a about.

The governments no nonsense approach to politically difficult decisions is beginning to look refreshing. In tne past some long winded compensation scheme requiring hundreds of pages of forms to be filled in that only a minority understood or benefitted from would have been put in place.

I'm 55, I'll be hoping to claim my state pension when I'm 65, that's what I was told when I started work at 16 and I haven't seen any need to check it since. If they don't give it to me then I'll be really angry.

That is basically the argument.. Not only that, they claim they took financial/career decisions based on the retirement age they thought they were entitled to and were unable to go back to work.

For me it's no different to a tax return. My responsibility to know the allowances (or lack of) that I intend to claim, or expect a letter telling me I got it wrong and have a late payment fee.

There is no point in engaging with someone who has complete protection from the mods and can get away with saying anything - abuse and lies.

Only in your head.

Here's a novel idea : post your opinion, back it up with reliable sources, stand by it, and defend your position - through debate - with those who counter it.

See where that gets you coz, right now, your strategy of running, hiding, and crying foul is only feeding your prejudices.

You are going to be disappointed.

The aging population and the need to address the cost if pensions has been debated fir decades. It like farmers assuming they will never be subject to IHT.
