Waste Pipes through joists

I am putting a wet room in my firt floor en suite bathroom. My problem is that the waste outlet is about 3 joists away from the stck pipe. Am I allowed to cut 38mm holes in the joists and if so where abouts do I have to put them to keep within current regulations??

hmmmm so how do i gt my waste away from the shower room then? any other methods?

You may need to;
-raise the floor
-look into running a duct in the downstairs ceiling
-installing a lifter

3rd option not recommended.

ive just spent a silly amount on a wet room system. So basically I now have a wetroom shower tray sat on the joists. The outlet is 3 joists away from the stack pipe. Lifting the tray really isnt an option for me as the whole point is to have a room all on the same level including the shower. I assume by running a duct you mean some horrible boxing that will be left hanging from the ceiling?

Failing that the only other option I see is running the pipe outside from the end of the joists then back in again to the stack pipe, again something id prefer to avoid

not much choice really as that kind of cut will greatly weaken your joists
