We when I turned on internal stop tap(see picture attached. The pipe flew out of of the stop tap(see the brown connection on picture) why would this be happening?

Most likely the copper wasn't correctly fitted into the stopcock or possibly the wrong fitting/grab/O rings used

Pipe work not in fitting correctly.
Not the responsibility of the water board to check poor pipe connections after main stop tap.

Thanks for your help so far on this. I have home serve leak insurance. (A pound a month for first year) so someone is coming to fix it. I'll keep you updated. I hope he don't replace stop tap with a brass one!

Plasson push fit stop tap, really good fittings usually, if it isn't in right, it's coming back out ... simples. Yes it uses O rings.

If you can prove it was in right and the fitting has failed then take it up with Plasson, customer services is usually excellent, I am sure they will be very interested that one of their new fittings has failed.

I am pretty sure it's in tight. In addition I don't think plasson stop tap need o rings.
If you go to the last illustration here you will quite clearly see an o-ring and a grab ring. http://www.plasson.co.uk/images/Fittings/plassonuk/cms/2014 Fitting Instructions/Pushfit Fitting Instructions.pdf I'd suggest, assuming you haven't previously taken the fitting apart to "see how it works" and either lost parts or misassembled it, that you failed to get the tube pushed through the grab ring.

Not sure if HomeServe will cover a diy problem. Its called leak insurance for a reason - but you don't have a leak.

Do these peeps charge if you call them out wrongly?

Study Jackrae's link carefully, then try a refit. What have you got to lose?

Interesting thread.
Surprised sir Pullar has not responded:LOL: with dafty DIYer remark

WTF £1 a month ,ill be very surprised if your covered plus what do you actually think your £1 will cover when you in the shyte

Ok. It looks like joint slips off and on too easy. I checked the mark and it looks to it needs to go in another 5mm at least and it hasn't slotted in. Is it just more force? I've tried and it's not working. I felt in the fitting and there is a rubber ring inside.
