One that perturbed me that. Apparently the ballot papers torn from a book and the counterfoil stub number and ballot paper numbers are kept separately and can only be married up by court order if electoral fraud is suspected. It costs a few bob to raise a court order to deter frivolous claims.
How safe it is is anyone's guess.

I take it that you have not recently been to an election and seen how and what is recorded as a slip is provided then.
Your name is on a list, you tell them your name and issue they you with a ballot paper and the list and ballot papers are kept separate unless a court order is issued,?
