Well done wind

A recent article showed how Shakleton was forced to get the Endurance because it was cheaper than the bigger, stronger icebreakers of the time. Only £14k. He had doubts about the ships strength to cope with pack ice, and it turned out he was right. Still; there wouldn't be that epic trek across the Southern Ocean if he'd been able to afford a bigger boat.

I thought the first picture was Endurance but it turns out to be the Cutty Sark, SS Great Britain has coal fired steam though. I'm building a model of Endurance, will get back on it during the winter months.

Our whole civilisation is founded on fossil fuels.

"Growth" is meaningless. We are 3 trillions in debt and cannot afford to maintain an army, keep people safe, provide cheap energy etc., etc. All the real stuff.

Climate change is a massive con.

For your information:

These are not average energy costs in each country.
They are actually the wholesale prices of electricity per megawatt hour for a single hour in December 2022.

Our civilisation was founded on fossil fuels.

A curious opinion.

What date do you think your "civilisation" was founded?

What "civilisation" was it?

Are you a mormon? A scientologist?

We must have the world's most expensive electricity, as well as the most expensive everything else; highest taxes etc. That's due to our communism.
