Tim Martin, said it was part of a transition away from products made in the EU.

Wetherspoon sells two million bottles of sparkling wine each year, most of which is prosecco.

The pub chain aims to replace prosecco with UK or "new world" alternatives in the next year or two.

Champagne will no longer be available at Wetherspoon's pubs from next month.

I suspect this reflects the reluctance of typical Spoonists to pay for it.

Those who rely on imports are feeling the Brexit pinch. Were not even out yet but things are going South and businesses are folding.

Quitters new mantra - we don't care.

Dumb Quitters.

I expect its only bought when a groupmis celebrating a birthday etc and dont mibd paying £30+ for a budget champagne in a pub.

Its only tradition that makes champagne synonymous with celebrations.

Personally Im not a fan of champagne and would prefer to choose sparkling wine.

Prosecco has apparently peaked!

And its being blamed for damaging teeth; 'prosecco smile' ......which suggests to me some people must really guzzling the stuff

Im not sure what that has to do with this thread about Weatherspoons stopping champagne and prosecco.

Perhaps its just a remoaners rant :ROFLMAO:
