The in-laws have brought round a mutant chicken...

It's 12 pounds!!

Why????

I'm struggling to contain it at the moment...

Well, I'm praying to the God of PleasepleasepleaseleteverythingbeOKormymotherinlawwillkillme.

So far everything is OK.

I'll be putting the bird into the oven when same has warmed up.

Only family I have is the old lady, her brother's side never invite us anywhere. So that's that. I'd be lying if I said my social circle was not a sore point for me, even at 29 my friends list seems to have dwindled over the years. Anyway I'm happy otherwise.

First wife cooking traditional turkey as I speak.
Then she's going to cut some slices and put them back in the oven for me. I like mine dry.
She's a good 'un.

Beef and pork cooking now for dinner, and cold chicken for later. Missus has chased me away from the kitchen.
Just me and her for dinner. We like it that way. :)

Roast leg of lamb. It was delicious, Couldn't face turkey after 2 previous Christmas Dinners with my daughters, there partners and grandchildren.

and peaceful as I chose to be alone this year.

Just returned home from a day at the hospice visiting my mum.
The staff arranged a Christmas dinner for patients and family that wanted to spend what is a last Christmas together.

Very emotional day for all concerned but, brilliant.

All the staff are fabulous, a big thank you to St Ann's Hospice.

This year for the first time ever we were encouraged to go out for dinner ( mainly by my sister in law who cooked last year and moaned and moaned about how stressful it all was and how she couldn't face it all again this year). Anyway we went to the local Indian which is only a few minutes walk away. Take your own booze and a choice of Indian or traditional turkey . I went for the Indian and had a whole chicken with mince , peppers and the like. Daughter had the turkey but was a tad unimpressed , dry and the veggies not up to much. However , all in all we won't be going next year . It took close to four hours , we heard the same Christmas songs over and over again and at some times the noise was deafening.

Christmas can be a terrible time for those who have lost loved ones and raising a glass to absent friends says nothing of the pain held inside.

All the best Terry at this tough time.
