Been asked before and I responded on that one http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1943356#1943356
To be honest I'm now unsure about my last choice in that topic but the others stand. My second choice was "Downfall" , the German language film about Hitler's last few days, a cracking film that almost makes you feel sorry for him by the end. However , it's in German and was shown with sub titles and was one of the few foreign or at least non English language films mentioned. I was going to start a thread about such films (but never got round to it) after talking to people at work as it seems a common attitude is to shun foreign films. One lad actually said he'd never watch anything with subtitles as if he wanted to read for two hours he'd go to the libary

1 True Grit

2 Bourne Ultimatum.

3 The Thirty Nine Steps

Originals, although the true grit remake is a close second.

Showcase cinema by us did the Original Alien last year as part of their once a month Classics.

When we got there they said the heating had broken in the cinema but we could still go in but would not get a refund if complained. It turned out it was just the wife and I who agreed and we had the whole cinema to ourselves. Watching Alien in an ice cold cinema made it so much better. Probably the best film experience we've had. 8)

I think Shutter Island is the best recent film I've seen in recent years. Scorsese is just brilliant...
