That statue was erected 170 years after slave trader Colstons death.

A Bristol businessman tried to raise the money for its erection by public subscription but he only raised 850 quid so had to put up the rest the money himself.

Instead of a statue to a dead slave trader, why not something more contemporary like an NHS nurse or Doctor.
