• Looking for a smarter way to manage your heating this winter? We’ve been testing the new Aqara Radiator Thermostat W600 to see how quiet, accurate and easy it is to use around the home. Click here read our review.

What have you been doing today?

Well, the Radio 2 party in the park was great. All put in extremely good sets except for Marti Pellow. Too up his own arse. Just got in and we're watching Bryan Adams again. (y)

The Stereophonics would have been the highlight for me, saw them at Eden.

We don't usually make much use of the immersion heater, rather we usually just leave it to the gas boiler to heat the hot water cylinder, except - Octopus sometimes offer a free hour of electric, when they get a surplus to use up, and it would be rude, not to take maximum advantage. We had a free hour yesterday, and two free hours to make use of today.

The gas HW control system, is set to heat the water to precisely 60C and I can accurately monitor the cylinder temperature, on my PC. Running the immersion heater, I noticed it stopped heating the water at around 49C, despite it's stat set to 60C. Turning it up to 70C, it seemed rather indeterminate, and being so old, it lacked an over-heat safety trip, so I decided to replace it.

Replacement ordered late last night, online, and collected from our local Screwfix this morning. Long ago, I added lots of extra slatted shelving in the airing cupboard, so I've had a fair bit of that to remove, just to get the thermostat out, and it's replacement back in. Leccy is half price anyway today, according to Tracker, but I may as well wait until it's free, from 12:00 to 14:00, to do a thorough test.

Marti Pello is just an old has been that still thinks he is a star. Cannot sing live and should just simply fade away. Probably end up on I'me a celebrity get me out of here. Then never heard of again.
I went to a funeral of a sort of relative , she was BA cabin crew for many years, at the wake there were lots of retired cabin crew, they were talking about the worst passengers in first class and his name cropped up a few times, as did Cilla Black

I cannot be a**ed with the shuffling money about regularly. I now have seven+ accounts, three of them TSB with nowt in them, but they are so difficult to close - they insist on me making a special trip to the local city, to close them, so I just ignore them.
When I closed an old unused account with them they insisted on full photo ID and two proofs of address. It had about ten quid in it. I suppose it is a reflection of how widespread fraud is, but they never ask for ID when I take money out of the cash machine or swipe a debit card.

Going for a few beers and a game of pool with son.....this will cost me :)

I'm living the dream today, sitting in front of the telly, with my feet in a basin of hot water, waiting for the Grand Prix to start.

suppose that is marginally better than having your feet in a bowl of water whilst been simultaneously attached to the mains with someone in a German accent say 'You vill tohk'

Went over the allotment to pay next years fees, £50. While I was there I picked some Cavolo nero and pulled some assorted carrots for tea tonight. Brought home a few tomatoes and some French beans for in the week.

Been up to my arms in shìt today fixing my macerator. I hope I’ve fixed it - hopefully fitting it back in tomorrow.

I hate celebs who say "Do you know who I am?".

Somebody said that to a mate of mine who worked in maintenance and he replied, "Why, have you forgotten?"

Turned out it was someone famous and he ended up getting a verbal warning from his boss.
