What have you been doing today?

Newcastle get ready for some real men coming your way. Heard Newcastle is the nightlife capitol of the UK. I will be the judge of that.

We’ve just had our Miele washing machine repaired under warranty this morning. While the engineer was here, he mentioned the steam programme. We’ve never used it but he said it gets creases out of things. I read up on it and you use it at the end of some wash cycles or you can just bung worn but not dirty items in there and it steam freshens 'em without using any detergent. Just tried it on a pair of jeans. Bloody marvellous - I reckon when dry, they won’t even need ironing!

That was 5 years ago and I’m trying it out right now for the second time in 11 years on a clean but creased dress shirt that I can hopefully wear to a wedding tomorrow. Mrs Mottie will not be pleased if it shrinks. Fingers crossed. :ROFLMAO:

We met up with friends today for a walk and one of them had recently (2 weeks ago) bought a brand new Audi Q5. As we were talking, one of us noticed that she had a crease going from the window rubber to the swage line on the drivers door, in line with the door mirror. The paintwork was untouched though. She hadn’t noticed it. Looking under the mirror, there was no bottom cover on it. She was baffled how it had happened. We said it could have been like that from new but after two weeks, she would have difficulty proving it. Anyway, she’s just told us that she took a few photos of it in the showroom when she picked it up from the dealers and there in the photos you can see the crease! She's going back tomorrow to have it out with them. I still can’t work out though how the panel could get creased with no damage to the paintwork.
She went back today and when confronted with the photographic evidence they were embarrassed, apologetic and are taking it back on the 5th to sort it out. You really would expect better on a brand new car costing £55k+ from an Audi dealer. They must have known it was like that when it was prepped for sale.

Family wedding in Rochford last night - Brother in Law, second wedding. We all stayed over at the venue. Went okay as weddings go but I got stung for a £45 round of drinks at the hotel bar and 5 minutes later it was declared an open bar! This morning after breakfast the kids wanted to go to the amusement arcades on Southend seafront. By kids, I mean our 39 and 37 year olds! Oh, and the grandkids. We hadn’t been there for years and our daughter looked up a car park and we all followed her to it. We parked up and dead opposite the spaces we parked in was the place that I met Mrs Mottie to be on 15th September 1978! It was TOTS (Talk Of The South) nightclub in those days but it closed a few years ago. Had to have a picture taken.

There were two children and two grandchildren with us today that wouldn’t have been there today if our stars hadn’t been in alignment that night.

Currently debating whether to go to bed or stay up and send my drone up at a minute to midnight to film the fireworks going off. Charging it up in case I'm still awake after a late night last night and being woken up early by the grandkids banging on our hotel door at 6.30 this morning.

Sod it, I’m off to bed, I’m knackered. Happy New year everyone.

Hadn't thought about that. I'm still a bit nervous after the incident with the postman the other day.
