What have you bought today?

I’ve got one of those ultrasonic cleaners. I occasionally put my watch and some of Mrs Motties jewellery in it. The crap that comes out - unbelievable!
They are brilliant at removing crap.

Curiously what do you use in you cleaner?
 
I bought the proper fluid to add to the water but a little drop of washing up liquid is just as good.
Not for bike chains unfortunately, ive tried pure degreaser, but that's pants aswell and hard to dispose of...
 
Get the rear wheel off the ground on a maintenance stand and turn the pedal as the chain runs over the brush, top, bottom and both sides of it.

For the motorbike, I adapted a pair of old toothbrush heads, both mounted face to face hinged on a bit of steel for the job - so it cleaned off both sides at the same time.
 
There’s plenty of gadgets on the market for cleaning bike chains.

Parifin is good for cleaning chains - wont harm the O rings, doesn’t readily evaporate though so takes some drying

A pair of these for the princely sum of £1.79 from euro car parts so I can convert the earth lead on my mig welder to a dinse fitting
 
10 litres of engine oil an oil and air filter for my mates transit. He's coming over on Monday to plaster the artexed ceiling in our back bedroom and he will not take any payment from me so I’ll give his van a service while he's doing it.
 
A couple of LED indicator bulbs for the Tucson. Got the latest greatest, most up to datest LED matrix headlamps but they still use incandescent bulbs for the rear indicators!
