What have you had for dinner

I used to make gluten free scones
Mrs Mottie just had this delivered from our daughter. Gluten free scones. Scones were not too nice but I didn’t say anything to Mrs Mottie or our daughter. It’s the thought that counts.

That looks interesting.

A creme brulee and a white chocolate chip cookie? What are the other two?
The white one, I’m not sure really, like a custard tart.

The other was a sticky toffee pudding with coffee ice cream.

I had king prawns to start and lamb as a main.

Are you on holiday?
No mate, just out for Mother’s Day.

We went to a lovely little country pub, the Mrs and my Mum had a bottle of wine and a large G n T.

It’s nice to treat them both.

Was ordered by the boss that she was off the cooking today and I had to cook.
God came to the rescue with a glorious sunny day, so I got steaks and burgers from Lidl (they're surprisingly good) and started the bbq.
Had bought tuscan sausages yesterday from Costco, so I fed the whole family.
Also had the deep frier out in the garden so not to make any mess.
Thick cut chips, asparagus, sweet potatoes and baby onions all went in there.
Our eldest brought dessert.
Leftover charcoal still cooking peppers and asparagus for the kids who inevitably will feel hungry in the next hour or so.
Sorted!
Let me get the grappa barricata out now...

I must have missed my invite lol.

That sounds perfect

Chicken Parmigiana with Cavolo nero.
Cavolo, aside from being cabbage, is a word used by Italian people in place of a very bad word. In the same way that we sometimes use the word sugar to replace a bad word.

We had salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans. To cook the salmon I garnished it with butter (or Olive Oil from Mrs IfInDoubtDIY), topped with Dill and a squeeze of lemon juice then wrapped it in foil and baked in the oven for 20min. Delicious!
