Both are correct.

Currently you can be forced to retire at 65.
From next year the Government want to stop this compulsory retirement. That is going to open up a real can of worms.

Like labour, this Government want to bring in changes before they have given any consideration to the consequences.

Todays Daily Telegraph tops the lot:

"Tens of thousands of pupils suspended for classroom attacks
Children were suspended from school on more than 80,000 occasions last year for attacking teachers and classmates, official figures showed today. "

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/educatio...f-pupils-suspended-for-classroom-attacks.html

or is it

"360,000 troublemakers suspended from school
More than 360,000 children were suspended from school last year amid Government warnings that classroom behaviour remains a “significant problem”. "

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/educatio...0000-troublemakers-suspended-from-school.html

   Its only a 280,000 difference.

We never had a single case of classroom attacks in our school. Not even bad behaviour like answering back.

Spare the rod and spoil the child.

I wonder why The Telegraph didn't put a link to the source data.

It sounds as if the chap who wrote the Telegraph article doesn't have the faintest idea how to interpret the data and just takes it on face value. My guess is that the figures of 80,000 and 360,000 is probably the total number of sessions lost though suspension (if a pupil is suspended for 5 days that is 10 sessions).

What a great idea!

Let people work longer, so young people don't have a job to go into. Excellent!

An old fart bumbling about on his gimmy cart, does the job far more efficiently that a 16 yo, that can run about..

Who voted for this government? Oh Nobody. Therefore it's classed as a dictatorship. And needs bringing down. Hitler would be proud of the **** we are in. The 4th reich is happening. In our own country. By an unelected leader. That creates unlawful wars. The population needs to rise against this.

If you're drunk, then why post? or rather quote? Helps if you actually read what people write in a forum, rather than make sarcastic comments.

Lets examine my points - people working longer means less work for school leavers.

Old people tend to move slower than an athletic youth, so the elderly do the job slower.

The current govenment wasn't voted in by anyone.

We have been fighting an illegal war in Iraq.

Can you reply logically to any of these points, or are you the type to quote and run, 'drunk again' hic! fool. If the best you can do is post that rubbish, but ignore the points, whats the point of you being on a forum? Just post random quotes, with random answers? WHY?
