I am installing a whirlpool bath. The instructions mention fitting a RCD. I plan to spur off the upstairs ring main with a 13amp dp fused spur as I already have a RCD on my sockets in my consumer unit in the garage. Do I need to fit another RCD on the Spur?
Thankyou in advance.

no. but it's electrics in the bathroom so you probably need it signed off. I'd step down the fuse to be closer to the fan and pump load as 13A sounds like a lot unless you also have a booster pump on the same spur.

The instructions show a 13a fuse but what I want to know is if I have a RCD protecting the ring main in the consumer unit do I need to fit one with the fused spur for the bath?

no.

I just had similar installed replacing an older wirlpool bath. and the electricians removed the old local RCD that I had fitted before I changed my consumer unit to one with RCD. I asked why they swapped and they said you don't need 2 RCDs.
