wire switch to light

i need help wiring a switch to a light outside in shed. i don't no where the live and neutral wires go. i've tried every thing need help. on the back of the switch i've got one hole at the top and two at the bottom. but at the bottom one hole says 1 way the other says 2 way. i want to connect a wire from inside the house to the switch in the shed then to the light.

You don't connect the neutral into the switch at all. Only double pole switches (which you don't have) switch the neutral. Only connect the live (brown wire) into the COM terminal. Then connect your switched live to the light into the 1-Way terminal. The neutral wires then are connected together, as are the earth wires. Also connect the earth wires to the switch earth terminal (if it has one) and the back box (if it is metal).

Holmslaw's reaction is understandable - if you don't know how to do this, then there are other things which you probably don't know about wiring outside, such as earthing, mechanical protection, testing and Part P notification.

Inside, outside - it matters not. Given his question it is abundantly clear that he knows nothing about wiring anything anywhere.

He doesn't even understand the basics of current flow, why there are two conductors, what a switch does.
