I have got this circuit breaker to go in my shed. But have lost the wiring diagram so before i jump in and wire it how i think it should be done i thought id ask the experts. Can somebody please tell me where to put which wires. Was hoping for one circuit for light and the other for the sockets. Cheers for any help. :)

rob_b - do you actually not know which circuit you'll be using for which purpose?

I know the answer and I'm no electrician, so if you don't know then you might want to get a tin hat before the real electricians notice what you've posted

jees!!!! how the hell do you get 6mm² SWA into that!!!!! Can see why electricians dont like volex now!!

and why is there flex dangling around the box?

surely you haven't . . . no you cant have . . . could anybody be so silly . . . . wired the circuits in flex????????

On a second look, it appears you have wired in flex - the earths are perfectly sleeved. And the flex doesn't appear to be glanded or adequately supported or protected. Please do not wire this up until you have invested in glands and cable clips!!!!!!!

Flexible cables can be used for fixed wiring under 7671...

Regulation 521-01-04

A flexible cable or flexible cord shall be used for fixed wiring only where the relevant provisions of the Regulations are met.

stuff the regs.

anyway, i'll bet "the relevant provisions of the regs" haven't been met, since the cables dont look supported very well and i certainly cant see any glands (i take it there is a reg regarding cable support)

The flex is only to go from the box to the sockets and light! All i asked was if somebody would be kind enough to give me the information of where to connect which wires. There seems to be alot of people commenting on what not to do and how not to do it but i am still none the wiser of how to do what i asked. Can somebody please help me with this information. Thank you.

Yeah, from a legal point of view, it would be irresponsible to tell you to do the opposite of what the law allows!
As it is in a special location, part p of the building regs applies and you need to have the local authority involved or use a registered spark. We would love to help technically, but our hands are tied.

If its the same as mine,

Live incoming to the top left of the RCD
Neutral incoming to the top right of the RCD

Live out for the circuits to the tops of the 2 MCBs

Looks like you need to fit a link from the neutral bar to the bottom right of the RCD.

Live out from RCD looks already connected (to other 2 MCBs)

Where does this thing get power from (MCB, cable size/type, cable length and route)?

Fixed wiring is just that, FIXED. Those flexes need clipping with the right clips. Should cost less than a pound to put right.

Hope you have told building control about this - its rather illegal if not. I kid you not.

oops. someone untied mine. 8) i think telling him the right thing to do whilst also making him aware of the law is the responsible thing to do. telling him about the law and nothing else would be irresponsible - he might try to do it anyway and kill himself in the process.

I would like to tell you how to do it, but if you have to ask these BASIC questions you shouldn't really be doing it.

I've just bought a scalpel and some long nosed pliers can anyone tell me how to go about dentistry
(see my point)

I think you should take some advice and get someone in who knows more- for several reasons (mainly safety)

Also my liability insurance specifically excludes me from giving such specific advice for others to carry out work- this was made plain to me at the outset of the policy. Had a person call me asking what cables go where as he forgot to note locations when he took his light switch off- got huffed when I told him I could not tell him as if he blew himself up or hurt someone I could be sued- he promised not to sue me, but I told him politely I couldn't tell anyway without seeing the job.
