The room stat is connected into terminals 5 and 9
This cable is also a 3 core and earth, it will be much easier if there is enough length on the cable on both ends to remake the blue core that has been cut off ( and earth)
You will then have
Live ,neutral and switched live available if you are going to fit the receiver where the room stat is now
If you are going to put the receiver adjacent to the wiring centre then

2 = neutral
5 and 6 = live
9 is switched live for central heating

It take it there is no programmer fitted?
Second thoughts maybe there is

Matt

Ok mapped out your terminals

1 = switch live to boiler / cyl stat call
2 = neutral
3 = earth
4 = pump live from boiler
5 = ch on from programmer/ room stat com
6 = as above
7 = HW on from programmer / Cly stat common
8 = HW off from programmer / cyl sat satisfied
9 = CH call from room stat

There is no permanent live in the wiring centre

Looks like I should pay attention , the OP clearly stated terminals are numbered right to left :oops: , all of my posts must of been confusing. :oops: :oops:

I am going to work through all this carefully and decide whether or not I should try this or whether I should get a professional. We've had some funny people in here over the years and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the wiring is dodgy. But I would like to thank you all again for taking so much trouble - what a great forum!

Chris (and I will make sure to report back on the outcome)

Looks like a link wire from 2 - 4 N to L in that case. :rolleyes:

The still too many wires in 5 if we count them from the right to left.

There's only two wires in terminal 5 (from right to left) , the left core @ the top of terminal 5 goes BEHIND the terminal & is connected into bottom of terminal , 5 & 6 are not linked , tis an optical illusion.
