People coming on here and saying they don't like something.
Whatever next?

Could you explain the attraction of football?

From BBC website:

GROUP E
Switzerland 17:00 Ecuador
France 20:00 Honduras
GROUP F
Argentina 23:00 Bosnia and Herzegovina

Won't that confuse a lot of football fans?

I'm happy to say that I've just finished some painting.

well lets hope we dont have to watch it dry.

Exactly! I did it so that I could watch it dry instead of having to watch boring football.

so you come on hear becuase you dont like football. and tell every one its boring. sad for you m8.

I'm grateful for your feelings of sadness for me. Personally, I don't feel in the least bit sad. In fact, when I was told that our wonderful England football team got beaten by a load of I-ties, I was in fits of laughter!

Perhaps they should stick to poncing about showing off their new hairdos and fancy designer outfits... and opening a new boutique, Brian (it's a Monty Python thing, for those who didn't get it)!

this wat i mean, its a world cup thread, and like all the other threads it starts well, then a few come on, and just disrupt it. most prob would be a good chat forum, but to much trouble in here to be honest.

fair play to italy, they won. but i dont laugh at our national teams loss, football or what ever it is,as it represents our nation. any one that flys the flag gets my support. anyone that laughs at our national team, i would not want them to be in the same trench as me,if it came to that.

I don't normally get too involved in football anymore but I did sit up and watch last night's game and thought that for once the England team made a really good effort. They looked like a proper international team. The quality of passes was good and Sterling was outstanding. I havn't seen an attacking English team like that for many years. Unfortunately the result didn't go our way. A good effort!

Maybe it was something to do with the fact that Lampard was sitting on the bench and not on the pitch as in previous disappointing efforts.

Sorry. I was just trying to inject a little humour. I should have realised that football is deadly serious.

Bill Shankly.

“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.”

I genuinely loved it, other than a few mistakes.

Even though we lost (to arguably one of the best sides in the world), I for one came away thinking it wasn't a complete shambles of a performance for a change.

Potentially the best team in years.

i don't take football seriously, its just good to watch something entertaining for a change.

its was the rolling eyes character, that made me think you was not being funny ,but indifferent. o well never mind.

Oh I was. I am completely indifferent when it comes to football. The only thing I really dislike about it is that many of my favourite TV programmes get cancelled or shifted around to make way for this paragon of thought-provoking 'sport'!
