This guy is advertising here.

http://www.smartgroupuk.co.uk/index.html

His speeling is atroshus and his bathroom diagram still has Z3 in, despite his assurance that he is now working to 7671:2008.

He states, "All our boards are fitted and tested using the latest Calibrated equipment so that we can check that the RCD units will switch off in time if there is a fault."

A bit more than that, I hope!

"To install a power shower you must remember that it needs to following:

RCD Breaker for Shower

45Amp Dual Pole Isolation Switch

Correct rated cable ( at least 6mm )"

A power shower?

Can an 11.5kW shower be fitted with a 45A switch?

You think the guy would have at least got someone to proof-read stuff before uploading it...

Zone 2 over a sink is a bit incorrect too
Power shower  - that's one almighty big pump that needs 45A

As an ex-website programmer myself, the site code isn't bad. The coding is quite clean, and no more bugs than is reasonable for a single person company.
Though the sound that plays on every page load gets extremely annoying.

The bathroom zone image isn't original - I've seen it floating around the web.
But it is prettier than any of the 17th Ed diagrams I've seen, and the average consumer won't know the difference.

He doesn't specify that it's a 11.5kW shower, so perhaps he's fitting smaller ones? Green, but either not very hot or not very wet.

I did like the Calendar idea. Should save fielding some calls asking about availability.

I've seen that before: apparently some product of a lighting manufacturer's association - they agreed that the sink area should be Zone 2 as it is in close prox to water, but it's not 7671.

So they have tried to keep it as simple as possible for potential customers who would probably be swamped if it was stuffed with jargon. Yet people still go to the trouble of picking fault, why dont you go make a website and do better?

I could and would, if I had a similar service to advertise, but I don't.

All I'm saying is that for the want of brushing up on his spelling and the removal of a few glaring errors, he could have made his website a lot more professional & impressive.

You don't have to have a knowledge of this industry to notice these things, you know!

"We believe that our prices are very competitively priced, however they may be cases when they could be higher than we charge, we are happy to match a legitimate quotation from another NICEIC registered electrician. Where possible we will go one step further and reduce a further 10% off the competitors quote!"

Does he really mean that there may be cases where their prices could be higher than what they charge?

What does he mean?

The impression I get is of a website put together by someone who really doesn't give a toss about how good a job he does.

And if he doesn't give a toss about how he presents himself in order to generate business how can he be trusted to give a toss about anything else he does?
