Working for British Gas these days

Have you see any figures from your performance recently on the new figure stem?
How does it compare?

Would you have made more money on the old £5/hr system?

I've got my PDR this wk, first for 2yrs, should be interesting!!!

I wont be with BG in a year i dont think anyway. But that 7/7/7 sounds horrendous!!!

Next pay deal, expect,

Scrapping of 4day working week in summer
No payrise
scrapping the double time wintershifts overtime

NOT HEARD OF 7/7/7

The union will probably bend over and sY yeah baby, KNOBS

The selling is the worst part of the job. If you have an outstanding month the next they are on your back if you can't get any upgrades that are real, instead of selling any old crap to anyone. It is a joke.

TSM bonuses depend on it though eh!

They are nuts if they scrap the 4day wk, nail DT cause a lot of good engineers will leave if that's the case. They are actually making more profit than ever in this finacial climate and they are getting greedy.

Work further west, heard 3/4 eng's including TSM resigned though recently (something dodgy went on)

Not heard much through the grapevine though

Im expecting a bit of an exodus next summer. The management do things their way thinking they are saving money and improving the business, when most of the time the engineers are proved right after disagreeing with the changes. e.g HESTIA, P2, Timechoice, removal of standby, banning FV Fails

4 day week Double bubble overtime  You lot are stuck in the 60`s Get Real Get a degree and stop wingeing  And stop bashing the unions ,they have their faults and it`s surprising there are any left ,Post Thatcher

Double bubbles only been in 12 months!. The 4 day week is the only reason they are holding on to decent guys as the job is merely competetive in the market, certainly not aspirational. Although I believe they will be looking to stop it next summer I think the strength of feeling amongst emplyees will force the union into action.
Nobody knows for sure what is coming up but the words from my com the other week were "if you think the jobs bad now wait until next year, but if you don't like your job then f... off" (that is a direct quote recorded on my phone!)

Job satisfaction for you and for me eventually reaches such a low that the very large bolder of inertia which keeps people in jobs, will start to seem small compared to the huge rock of unhappiness in the role.

This is what the bg management at high level making these sweeping changes have not calculated.

I wander if the people making such decisions actually have ever been field engineers any longer? Or if they are all graduate training program green horns.

2 engineers and one TSM resigned and 4 in for disciplineries this week! ;)
I know exactly what went on and although I feel sorry for them they did leave themselves open for it with the current climate you lot are working under (thank Feck I am away from that).
If TSM didnt resign he would have been sacked this week after 27years service!
He was a mate of mine from when I worked for BG. :( :(
