Just as well Maggie stuck to her guns, seeing as there may be large oil reserves off the coast. Its all kicking off in Argentina again since we started to send rigs down there.

It's funny how things repeat themselves. I remember Maggy telling us all that we would defend 'our land'. That we would protect the people of the Falkland Islands. Some of you may know, some of you may not, but there's an untapped oil reserve right below those islands. The Argentinians have recently launched a new 'offensive' against British sovereignty. Of course Maggy knew NOTHING of this Oil Reserve at the time! And I was born yesterday!

The Falklands War was about sovereignty just like the war in Iraq was/is about Weapons of Mass Destruction.

At that rate we alone would have the Saudi's oil depleted in less than 8 years.

All I can tell you is what I've been told Norcon. My pal (military), was out there during and after the war. He told me about the 'oil situation' at the time. Don't ask me how he knew and a few of us doubted him at the time but it turned out to be true.

It wasn't a war it was a conflict. And potential reserves have been known since the 60s due to the geology.
