I could do with some scrap lead to make some sea fishing weights, If there`s any chance you`d consider sending 5-10kg through the post i`d be happy to go higher than the scrap value. If its a lot of hassle don`t worry about it.

i just figured nothing ventured, nothing gained :)

cheers

Be happy to but due to the weight of lead it would work out too expensive.Better going to your local scrapyard they would be more than happy to sell you some lead, after all thats how scrap dealers make money=buy lead in at one price and sell on at a slightly higher price.I have been to the scrap yard a few times to buy various things and they have always sold me what ive needed at a fair price. ;)

Hi Guys,
Thanks very much for the information.
I paid a visit to the local scrap merchant and bought 10kg of nice clean 150mm wide lead sheet for a tenner :)

Cheers

My mother-in-law has some lead from her old porch roof. Not sure on the quantity, though. How much would you be prepared to pay per Kg?

It's gone up 20% since last year, but who the hell would offer to buy a bit of old porch lead on a web forum?

If things are that tight, I'll organise a whip-round
