In a big mess, dont know what to do please help! :(

Okay, i used to have a boiler, make hermann ( no ones heard of it ) :S

so few days ago got it replaced from this bogus company ( lets not get into that, storys too long). Got a Vaillant EcoTec Pro 28 as a replacement. so the next day i was hoping everything to be fine but realise in the morning the boilers water pressures gone down to 0 and the red light was on.

I let the fresh water in and the system repressureised. Before the boiler installation the plumbers did a chemical flush so i thought the water pressure going down must be some sort of blockage is being cleared up. Now been 2 days i have refilled the system 4 times now.

I am really worried as somewhere in the net i read that refiling your system alot is really bad and can cause serious problems ?

Anyways its obvious that theres a leak somewhere but before the installation of this boiler we didnt have that problem but i am thinking this could have occured due to the flushing? also today i am keeping an eye on it and i realise that the pressure suddenly drops everytime the central heating is on? is that normal or is there a definate leak somewhere ?

I gave all my money to this bogus company and now im in more mess and dont have any money left. My flooring is laminated downstairs so if i have to get engineers to lift up the floorboards and find a leak ill be in serious debt : /

I am hoping is the boilers fault so the company will fix it as it was just installed few days ago or if there is a leak i hope putting in some sealer will block the leak ?

how big does the problem sound ?

Edit: Plumber is saying this small leak also could be the problem so to dig in without rectifying it is stupid but we cannot find a replacement valve for this. The water inlet and outlet to the radiatior thts leaking is from the SAME PIPE!? the other end where the water return is capped so looks like one is for feed and the other for return. Any ideas ?

Sorry but on the face of it, something doesn't sound right about this story. You don't have a boiler replaced and then two days later come on a forum trying to get help with such a serious problem without contacting the original installer.

Unless you paid them a few hundred quid cash. So whats the real story?

Pressurizing the system will show any weak points in the system, as will powerflushing it.

You obviously have a leak and will have to find it.

Adding leak sealer is a bad move as it will block the small waterways in the new boiler.

I wish i had paid them few hundred cash.

Basically my old boiler was broken so i decided to get it repaired. then i entered my details online for a quote. this company called me back and the sales man came and gave me a quote. His exact words Were gonna exchange the boiler for Vaillant.... and change the valves on the radiators that needs changing and fix the radiator in your living room that isnt working.

He also stated they would flush the system before installingthe new boiler and give me a new wireless thermostat ( which later on i found only costs about 30 quid) so for that the price was settled £1970.

Installation date came , 2 plumbers came around and installed the boiler and there wasnt much wrong with the old one..( just the flame kept on going on and off and becuase no one had heard about the make of the boiler everyone had given up on it so i decided to replace it) so they took the old one away with them.

After installing the new boiler they did try to fix the radiator but at one end of the radiator the water was hot but on the other end it was cold so after them trying to replace the valves they finally settled on the conclusion that the pipe is kinked somewhere underneath the floor. So they said if we want them to fix that theyll have to lift off the laminate floor and look for the kink which could be anywhere on the WHOLE BOTTOM FLOOR! or we could just re draw another for that radiator which seemed more cheaper option but even that was gonna cost us 300+ if we had gotten it done with them so right now my living room is still freezing.

also their "charge" included boiler parts and labour 5 years warranty but until AFTER THE installation we didnt know we had to get it serviced everyyear form a gas safe engineer costing us around 75-100 pounds per year thats the 2 Main reason for me calling that company bogus.
anyways i called them today saying the boilers water pressure has gone down everyday since they installed it and the guy says to me on the phone well the engineers who did the installation in your home has told us that there was already a leak and the pressure was down WHEN I ONLY USE TO HAVE THAT PROBLEM about once a year ?

So i was completly surprised, every single matter theyre tryna get away with it. so the guy goes well i can assure you our engineers did 100% tight job so it cannot be the boiler but if you still want ill send you someone to inspect the boiler and if there IS A leak in central heating then if you want us to repair it it will cost you £85 callout charge plus £65 perhour after that .

I am totally speechless i really wana sue the guts out of these people but as the salesman lied to us and we havent got hard evidence i am not sure if im going to get anywhere with it.

You defo have a leak somewhere, and by the way its not the firm you used but its the manufacturers who demands proof of service every year to keep the garantee.

Looks like the laminate is coming up, although it may not be that bad, if you start under the radiator in the room, there's a likelihood it's the branch sticking out of the floor.

On what you have said they have acted responsibly and nobody here could claim do any better. If you had an existing leak under the floor it wouldn't have been apparent if the old system was fed by a tank in the loft? Is that what you had before?

As for the 5 year warranty, servicing is generally a requirement by any manufacturer, so nothing bogus about that.

Did the dodgy radiator ever work before?

i had a tank when i moved in this house and a year later got it replaced with that hermann combi boiler and 4 years later now vaillant. the dodgy radiator kind of worked before and still is the same.

also if there was ALREADY A LEAK ( which i didnt know because it was fine until the replaced the new boiler) why didnt they tell me before they started breaking the old boiler even more. I have never had to top up the old boiler everyday.

yeah i didnt know that the servicing had to be done every year. manufacturer is only giving 1 year its the company giving 5 years as i have paid for it. i wouldnt have paid for the 5 years warranty if i had know i needed servicing because how long does it take a new boiler to break down. I am calling them bogus because the sales man only said the servicing is recommended which automatically implied it wasnt cumpolsary

when did i say i dont want to look after it ? from the price im being charged for the stupid warranty and the yearly service i could take out a plan from british gas or something for 5 years to cover my whole central heating not just the boiler.

anyways thats not the problem here, i need help to find out if the pressure decrease is due to the leak.

how are battery and exhaust connected ?
in my case the central heating and the boiler certainly are...ive never had this problem and after the boiler is replaced and THE PROBLEM STARTS what do you expect me to do..spend the money i dont have to hire another guy to fix the problem started by someone else :S

anyways at the end of the day im here to find a sensible solution.

Venting the radiator? Well I don't know about that. All I do is turn the knot and fill the water in the boiler and it works and after turning the central heating it goes down again after about 8-10 hours

check all the new valves that were fitted with tissue paper for damp,check the condense line is not running with the heating off,check the safety release is not dripping outside,after that its floor up time.
