Only lukewarm water in mixer shower

My mixer shower is only giving lukewarm water. There's plenty of pressure but I can't get the water hot enough. From all taps in the house I can get really hot water.

When wanting to use the shower I now put on the COLD tap at the sink in the bathroom and that's how the temperature of the shower get's warmer.

Anyone any tips on how to resolve this problem?

Plenty of pressure - I assume the hot water is via a combi. In which case,thee control dial on the mixer needs adjusting. Simple enough if you have the instructions. If you post the make and model on here I'm sure someone will be able to google a copy for you . Failing that, a picture will be of considerable help

That's what I thought it would be, and I've tried that:

Well, armed with that somewhat useful information , the next point of call would be to check the mesh filter on the inlets.

Hmm and where do I find those? And what would I need to check - if they're clean? As it's a brand new shower Im not sure if that would provide a solution to my problem....

Okey dokey - the the nuts that connect the mixer to the hot and cold pipework quite often have a rubber washer with an embedded wire mesh in it to prevent large particles getting into the main housing.

A new installation you say? Sorry, should have asked that originally Is the hot water feeding it connected to the correct side (usually left as you face it)?

Thanks for your help. I cannot tell if it is connected to the correct side as it is built into the wall. I would need to break open the wall to find out. But if that was the case, I wouldnt have hot water at all right? (There is still some warm water coming out though, just not enough)

If the unit is connected the wrong way round, then it may well not work properly and one of the symptoms is as you describe.

No it has never worked properly. Water always has been lukewarm - cold. So would you recommend to get a plumber in?

I was determining whether it was you who fitted it or not in order to ascertain your level of skill. Not sure why you brought up a nationality as any relevance.

I only brought up nationality as I thought they might use different fittings/installations in different countries and thought that that might've been were a mistake couldve been made. I am very happy with the work he has done.
