Ha, ha! I've read the whole thread and some think it's inconsiderate to do this.
Well, I did this when ours were little. That's because I could never find a mother & child parking space.
On one memorable occasion, I did park over a line to give lots of space. It was quite a way from the store entrance too. I did consider putting a notice on the car to explain why, but didn't bother in the end.
When I came back, there was an irate message under the wiper and a huge scratch the length of the vehicle down one side.
With someone that intolerant, do you think leaving a message would have prevented such a response?

Have not had any issues in general. Park well away from the main doors.

Yep, always reverse in. Its actually easier than trying to drive straight in due to having the pivot point, Front wheels), now manoeuvring what is in effect the 'front' of the car.
Had some salesman visiting my neighbour park on my drive one day. Was seriously pi$$ed off when I demanded he stop what he was doing and move it or I would 'legally' remove it by forcibly towing it off with the handbrake on and in first gear, (he'd parked it in gear to prevent roll back). Neighbour was quite pleased because she was about to sign a contract for new windows when she decided she didn't want them and my interruption gave her a breathing space to collect her thoughts.

Leave the car at home and use public transport/taxi. Simple.
Cost far less than repairs if someone does damage your Bentley.
The 'preferred size of a bay is 5.5Mtrs x 2.9Mtrs but the minimum is 5.0Mtrs x 2.5Mtrs. Anything less than this and you would have a good chance of claiming against the establishment regardless if they have 'No Liability' notices on display.
Come on conny, you can do better than that! 5.5m x 2.9m?? i reckon i could nearly squeeze an artic into that space.
ps or have i got my wires crossed was it cant who is the maths teacher?
Cant is the maths teacher, I'm an electrical fitter by trade, though at the moment have diversified into management.

Sorry for the mixup in traeds conny, i went to the link and it says 9sq.M per car in supermarkets, you stated max 5.5x2.9 that equals 15.95sq.M and min 5x2.5 gives 12.5sq.M, thats assuming my maths is correct.

conny, i thought how ridiculas, 5x2.5m for a car parking space, so having nothing better to do at 0026hrs i went outside to measure our car, a Mondeo estate, I DONT BEELEEVE IT! it's 5m long and about 2m wide so a good dose of humble pie on the menu. actually i think i'll just check my tape measure first, perhaps it needs recalibrating

It is now well known the spaces now are smaller than the average car.
You lot are either very unlucky or spend all your days in car parks. (Are you sure it's shopping you going for )

Hello sall, normal people? are you implying that because i park the other end of the car park i'm not normal?
Also while we are on the subject maybe you could define "normal people" me personally put them in the same bracket as sheep or lemmings and as Patrick McGoohan said; i am not a number, i am a free man!
