When I switched off last night I went out on the patio for a last fag and to look at the stars, it was 0204hrs and a bright light came from the south west ish and disappeared in the north east ish, was this the space station?

I believe you but if it takes 90 minutes to go around the earth I'd think it would be visible for longer than that. Maybe the shorter time has to do with the earth's shadow.

When I woke up this morning there was a strange bright light in the sky, which had turned a funny colour ...... blue of all things!!!, anyone know what it is ?

As to having a teenie weenie, I checked it against the measurements in that old book by R. L. Dickinson. Having a medical library nearby has its advantages.
