Why does everyone seem to hate the Tories?

Seems small minded to be dependent on any political party to "better yourself".

Think off the bigger picture and what's best for the country.
We need to cut the welfare state, reform the nhs. (sack most of the adminstrators) keep unwanted foreigners out and keep jihadis in the firing line of gbu 12 paveways.
the trouble we have is rightly or wrongly most politicians are not trusted
labour and tory are preaching to the middle ground
we have a first past the post system so sensible collations or ways off keeping extremes on both/all sides in check are not in place leading to stupid unnatural alliances where its the bully dictating giving very very little rather than several voices averaging out a bit more with long term policies for the general good off the masses

Why is it people are so quick to spew hatred and bile about the Tories of today. I wouldn't mind had they a valid argument that criticized their policies, but no, it all seems rather impertinent and personal, (ad hominem attacks).

It seems people get off on insulting David Cameron by calling him a posh, slimy, toff who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Why does it matter that he had a privileged up-bringing, as long as he does job right, it doesn't matter, right? Or am I missing something....

How do we know that Cameron is doing the job right? I can't actually think of anything he has done. Lots of rhetoric spouting from his mouth obviously.

The main parties can be summed up like this:

Tories - For the rich + scandal

Labour - For the immigrants

LibDem - Waste of time

Green - Bigger waste of time

UKIP - Who knows give 'em a chance

now a lot off the cost to the hard working people is not paying a decent wage to maximise company profits so the public purse is subsidizing the profits of companies many companies are very wealthy and could pay more but choose not to further compounded by moving there profits abroad as a "tax dodge"

This is just a scapegoat, most companies are UK bound, fact is high house prices and taxes skew wages more than anything else (No, I am not denying the existence of greedy bosses paying **** wages).

Average mortgage or rent payments, have risen from about 60% of a person’s monthly income, to about 80-110% depending where you are.

Then you have Council tax, water rates, and electric bills, all seeing above inflation rates year on year until the recession hit.

This is why more and more people need benifits just to get along.

And a massive housebuilding programme will not solve this.

The thing is that Cameron has said that he will promise a referendum on EU membership if he is re-elected. Why not now?

Because they can't give it now without lib dem support, the lib dems do not want a referendum.

Hence, he can only offer it under a tory majority government.

Still don't trust them to deliver though, I think they made the promise knowing they would not win a majority again.

That's a nonsensical statement. They have held office for longer than labour since the year dot.

the point i am making is you have working class people that think the torries represent them or think by voting tory they are bettering them selves when in fact they are not

On the other hand, there are working class people who wrongly believe that Labour represents them. All Labour have done in recent years is pull the rug from under ordinary, hard working people.

At least Margaret Thatcher had a feel for what many ordinary people are striving for, and put the conditions in place for them to have a chance of making it. All Labour does is level everything downwards and waste any advantages they receive from previous Tory governments.

And there I was thinking that JBR had a monopoly on stupidity...

In the words of that immortal song...

"It's raining f*ckwits"

Using the word Labour was a brilliant decision. It makes it seem like it is the party for those who labour. When in fact it is a party based on socialist policies which work only as long there is funding to pay for them. The funds cannot be taking from the working class as that would stop them voting Labour. So the funds are extracted from businesses which are the real driving force behind the economy. If there is no business then there is no one to generate employment.

Ah yes. I was forgetting about the obstructive Limp Dems. They seem to oppose everything the Tories propose, possibly just to give themselves a much needed feeling of power. This coalition has proved to be a disaster, and I suppose that should have been easily foreseen bearing in mind the two parties are pretty much at opposite ends of the political spectrum.

One good thing that's come out of it, of course, is that the Limp Dems have been relegated to 'has beens', and good riddance.

I agree. Accurate definitions, although I'd add that Labour also rely on the workshy and anyone who wants to get something for nothing.

As for UKIP, I'd dearly love to see them given a chance. Perhaps realistically, everyone is saying that they will never get in. If that is true, then it is simply because that is what people are saying - a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Logically, there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't be able to get into government, and that with an enormous majority. It would just need enough people to vote for them. Unfortunately, so many Brits are either too frightened of change or they simply can't be bothered.

Of one thing I am sure: if Labour get in again next year, we can say goodbye to this country once and for all.

I don't think folk hate the tories so much as hate the right royal mess that succesive governments have got us into. The divide now between the rich (super rich) and poor is now what I believe to be a dangerous level, the super rich are now effectively dictating government policy, enriching themselves and impoverishing everyone else.

UK plc is bankrupt, there is no getting away from the fact.
Houses in most parts of the country are unaffordable for many
Wages are going down in real terms for most, notably, unless you're an MP
Cost of living is soaring.
Unemployment / under employment is much much higher than is stated.
There really aren't hundreds of thousands of unfilled vacancies out there, the numbers are massively overstated, an investigation into the universal job DWP website highlighted that of the 600,000 jobs advertised on there only 250,000 were genuine.

Hundreds of thousands of workers have been forced into low paid / unskilled / part time work and / or unemployment.

Ok, enough grandstanding.... how do we fix it? well unfortunately I don't know, but more importantly, nor do the politico's. It historically has usually led to revolution / war... neither of which right minded people want.

We need some really tough politics here, I am all for competition, and do not agree that we should all be equally compensated, but I do believe that everyone, regardless of status, should have the opportunity and the tools provided to reach the potential they have.

Yes, I am sure the super rich are the ones wanting 45% taxes and massive welfare spending

UK plc is bankrupt, there is no getting away from the fact.

Well, apart from that it is not a fact.

Debt levels are fine, deficit is fine, *IF* the spending creates growth, and if it can be serviced by that growth.

The debt is only a problem because it is failing to do that.

Super rich don't give a fig about *any* taxation rate, as an IT contractor, I pay less than 10% in tax, immoral you will say, but perfectly legal.

Only one problem there: vote UKIP = Labour Government.
