If the BBC invited him on to do a hatchet job

Andrew Neil is a good presenter and I think well balanced. He does have a tactic in that he wont allow mouthpieces and agendas onto his show. You're there to answer his difficult questions with honesty, not there to turn them around to the interviewees own agenda. When the interviewees start to do that he digs in and is insistant on keeping the interview on track.. (who's track?). Now I also believe that he knows exactly the buttons to push and is often better informed than the politician/pressure group he is interviewing.

Jo Coburn does it too, it's part of the game they're in. They are quite contrary when questioning a person who has a particular political slant, they edge their questions with the opposite political slant, and watch them squirm away from the trivial but "obvious" answer into the non-trivial. You can see the interviewees who get the hardest time are those that appear to think they're there for an easy ride and some free publicity on national telly with a full five mins to spout their agenda unchallenged.

Of course the interviewees know if they do answer questions honestly it appears their whole political ideology, of any slant, falls to pieces for the nation to see.. and shortly followed up by another question which nails the coffin firmly shut.

I say keep up the good work.

Yawwwnnnn oh an interesting post from nowsnowt ......nah joking

On this occasion, Andrew Neil and the BBC did not want to hear any of the answers.

More disappointingly, they did not want us hear the answers, all they wanted to do was to try their very best to discredit him.

The same tactics that the establishment and the media have tried with the likes of Nigel Farage in the past and are doing with Donald Trump in the present.

Nigel Farage is good a putting forward a strong argument, he's been doing it for many years. Hell he's so good at it, his political party has changed the face of the UK and Continental Europe for decades to come. Nigel Farage needs to quit moaning about establishment tactics though, it does not do him any favours and is err-ing on the side of conspiracy theories. It's true to say most media outlets marginalise political coverage unless it is red or blue flavour, it's enough to leave it at that.

Now that Nigel is at a loose end, it would be a very good idea if he teamed up with Paul to fight the next vital cause for this country!

Paul Weston said in that multiculturalism video you posted that UKIP won't address the main issue of fighting against the Islamic takeover that is happening. I'd like to know why he says that, there is an obvious difference between him and Farage on that one.

That is because UKIP is (was) a one-trick pony to achieve independence from a political ideal/federal Europe. UKIP wouldn't be taking on multiculturalism in your sense of the word as that is (was) the remit of the BNP.

Farage always stated that one of the main aims of brexit was to gain some kind of control over immigration, but given the way Europe as a whole is going the BNP sounds more and more appealing.
If Weston can put a more acceptable face on that all the better.

Weston is unfortunately a completely bigoted racist, whose learn to put on a more acceptable face on his views. But just as NF stood up against the EU, we now need people like Weston to stand up against the stupidity of our government, as well as the EU.

I don't know enough about Weston to have an opinion, UKIP one trick pony maybe, but they got a lot of votes ......a lot.
Cameron thought he would put paid to them holding the referendum but just like labour he underestimated public opinion.

One thing is true extremists are gaining votes in Europe and they will continue to do so for the simple reason mainstream political parties are for some reason in denail about what's happening but ordinary people can see it on the streets they inhabit.
There's some tumultuous times ahead in Europe, seen how violent it's getting in Calais recently.

Remember David Cameron told Nick Ferrari that UKIP was full of "fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists".

True, far right parties are indeed gaining votes.. but I think it's not only down to what the political parties are doing, but also how fear and insecurity have a way of robbing reason.

Remember David Cameron told Nick Ferrari that UKIP was full of "fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists".
"fruitcakes, loonies and closest racists, mostly".

Just because Nige got his wish, it doesn't mean that Cameron wasn't correct!! The two things can go hand in hand you know! :)

Your Andrew Neil clip proves my point and reinforces what I said about the hatchet job, thanks.
