Personal information.

This is interesting with regard to John's earlier question re. the U.K. leaving the E.U. - if it happens.

https://history.blog.gov.uk/2016/05...lo-portuguese-treaty-of-windsor-9th-may-1386/

It is 630 years since a treaty of alliance between King Richard II of England and King John I of Portugal was ratified at Windsor on the 9th May 1386 (The National Archives: E 30/310). ...

...The terms of the treaty included provisions for guaranteeing the mutual security of both nations and strengthening of commercial ties such as the right of both countries to trade on the terms enjoyed by the subjects of that country. There were even clauses encouraging freedom of movement and settlement between the two countries, as subjects of either country had the right to dwell in the domains of the other.

It says it is.

It is a testimony to the continued commitment demonstrated by both nations down the centuries to support one another that to this day the Anglo-Portuguese alliance is still a valid agreement endorsed by both countries and no doubt will continue to be in the future.

Are you going to put a RCBO/RCD protection on the remaining circuits, and get CPC in place for the circuits what lack it?

There's only one remaining circuit - the kitchen sockets, and no, I don't want one.

I bought cable for CPC - one day.

Shall I pretend the circuits without CPC are TT?

Is that also relating to your mentioning that BS7671 is OTT? Are kitchen sockets not RCBO/RCD protected because their earthed, or for some other reason.

John.

If you didn't have your TN-S through the pipes, then surely, if 100Ω or whatever is all you have, you may as well.

That was somewhat tongue-in-cheek but I do think it is going that way.
"They" are now just thinking of new rules seemingly for the sake of it, aren't they?

Not dropping like flies here without an H&S obsession.

Yes mine. I am quite happy with ADS.

Is an RCD effective on the fifth floor?

Edit - changed Freudian slip

I believe it's actually ('borrowed') TN-C-S :-)

However, I'm not sure that I understand your point .... are you perhaps postulating trying to make the entire building an earth-free zone (which would obviously require there to be no extraneous-c-ps)?

Kind Regards, John

Yes, I realise that.

No, but if all you had was a 100Ω earth which is not effective for ADS then CPCs aren't much use, are they?
