WeMo Smart WiFi Adapter

How can I block someone else from switching my WeMo adapter?

They must live nearby but I don't have a clue who it is. How can you just download the Wemo app and link it to an adapter without some form of authorisation?

Anybody had issues before?

Yes, Z-Wave based devices what incorporate wireless security features as part of the wireless protocol. I am using a Samsung SmartThings Hub, 1 of These, 1 of These, 1 of These and 3 of These.

The Samsung SmartThings Hub supports Z-Wave, Zigbee, Amazon Echo, IFTTT, Philips Hue, Sonos, and Cloud-to-Cloud stuff.

If your referring to my post; by a number of ways including the smartthings iOS/Android/Windows Mobile app on your phone or tablet, via IFTTT, SmartTiles Web based Dashboard, Home Remote Software, Switch on the physical unit, etc...

The good thing about the SmartThings platform is that it has a open development platform so any one can develop for it.

The quoted text about z-wave security is also entirely true of WiFi - its devices have unique IDs and the data is encrypted.
