Wiring colours for storage heater switch (20 AMP) is reversed

Hi

Mine heater switch is not working yesterday. I tried to change the new switch yesterday, when I opened it. I found the colour does not match with the UK standard wiring colours. My heater is built after 2006, so it follows Current IEC. And my house is built around 1987, so it follows Pre-2004 IEE

According to Pre-2004 IEE
Neutral (N) should be black, but mine is red
Line (L) should be red, but mine is black

According to Current IEC
Neutral (N) should be blue, but mine is brown
Line (L) should be brown, but mine is blue

I understand it does look weird if compare the UK standard wiring colours. Anyway, I don’t dare to change it as the switch always working. I followed the previous way to set-up the wiring on the switch. It works. These is the second day, everything working fine.

Is there anything I need to concern? Or everything should be alright?

It says DP. That means double pole - both L and N are switched off - so it doesn't really matter that they are the wrong way round.

If you do decide to change them make sure there is no copper showing - like the red and black are now.

I use Sellotape to insulate for the exposed copper. Any suggestion what is good for insulation

There should not be any copper showing. The wires need trimming back.
Sellotape is not insulating tape. It doesn't insulate anything. Good for wrapping presents and nothing else!
