You think the EU ought to give the UK a favourable deal and encourage other nations to break up the union? Mebbe the EU is thinking along the same lines as the UK's brexiteers and "say stuff you if you wanna leave". Seems to me like this is actually what the brexiteers really want.

If you think about it, if the EU really did give the UK a great deal despite not being a member, it would ipso-facto prove that the EU does not need to exist! The ultimate barriers to free European trade/travel etc are those set up by the EU itself... Hence the EU must gives us a bad deal in order to justify its continued existence.
