I was watching it live on Periscope, and the way the emergency services handled it was something to be proud of. Professional, cool and no panic or over reaction. You won't see that anywhere else in the world.

But it was a bit surreal to see members of the public just milling around, not sure whether to help the people on the ground, watch, or just walk on by.

Because doctors and nurses have an inbuilt instinct to preserve life. In the medical profession if you feel unable to give aid to someone because of their belief, colour, or whatever then you should not be in the profession. Even during the war both axis and allied medical personnel treated victims of the opposite sides.
